Health Educators
and group of
amazing EMG schools
are up to!
The primary mission of EatMoveGrow is to reduce the obesity rate for at-risk Louisiana children by closing health gaps and building stronger health environments. Our team is passionate about providing children better nutrition, more chances to be active, and creating community interest in their health. We work alongside our program partners in elementary schools to provide multiple evidence-based and promising practice models and onsite support from a team of Health Educators. In addition to providing EatMoveGrow funded nutrition and activity grants to the schools we serve, we also assist in connecting them to state and national health and activity programs and funders. We currently serve 40 elementary schools in our 17-parish service area. However, it is our desire for ALL children to benefit from our work so we continually share information about our work, research, and successes in our blog found here on our website and also chronicled on our social media. Every member of our team brings a unique set of skills and expertise to EMG. This passionate group's collective goal is to provide children in the EMG service area with better nutrition, more chances to be active, and to create community interest in the school health environment.
