Melise Newton is based out of Bunkie General Hospital where she works in the Heart & Health Department. Melise coordinates health lessons and special programs for schools in Allen, Avoyelles, Evangeline, St. Landry, and Point Coupee Parishes. She brings her valuable experience as a teacher and a mother of four living in a rural community to our team.

Melise received her BA in Elementary Education from Louisiana State University in Alexandria. She began her career in education as a second-grade teacher. Working with EMG has allowed her to combine her passion for teaching and her growing interest in health and fitness. She is also certified in American Heart CPR & First Aid, Barre Above, Pound, and Generation Pound. These certifications allow Melise to share the importance of health and fitness with the staff at her schools and with others in her community.
