Joanna Faerber is based out of The Health Enrichment Network (THEN) in Oakdale, Louisiana. She works closely with school administrators, physical education teachers, and classroom teachers to coordinate health lessons and other special programs In Catahoula, Concordia, St. Landry, Pointe Coupee, St. Mary, and Ascension Parishes. She also serves in many leadership roles with LAHPERD, Southern District, and SHAPE America.

 

Joanna is a National Board-Certified Teacher and received a BS in Health and Physical Education at Arkansas State University, and a Master of Arts in Education at East Carolina University. She received her Specialist Certification from the University of Southern Mississippi. Joanna joined the EMG team with 38 years of teaching experience. In 2009, she was honored to be named the National NASPE Elementary Teacher of the Year in the Southern District and the Louisiana Teacher of the Year. She is also a Master Trainer for the Presidential Youth Fitness Program, Champion Ambassador for the NFL Play 60, editor of the 4th edition of the Elementary Physical Best Activity Guide, Pound PRO and Generation Pound Instructor, and a National Trainer for OPEN Physed. When Joanna is not teaching, you can find her geocaching and bowling around the world with her husband.
